I can't sign in or recover my old msn account?

-So there's this old msn account of mine which I haven't been using for a good while(maybe a year) and I came back to log into it the other day and I could not. I also tried recovering the account but it said that the account didn't exist. So my question is, do msn accounts automatically get deleted after a long period of no use??
